SCALE-ORG, a project led by Pedro Mecê at Institut Langevin, has been selected among the 9 laureates of the PSL Valorisation Prematuration 2026 call, from 43 applications across the PSL ecosystem.
The project builds on wide-field cellular optoretinography developments carried out within the CLARITY group using full-field OCT. Optoretinography provides a non-invasive way to measure the functional response of individual photoreceptors to light by detecting the minute optical changes that accompany their activation.
With €80k of prematuration support, SCALE-ORG will focus on translating these developments toward a system suitable for clinical retinal imaging and on establishing robust functional biomarkers for future evaluation in retinal disease.
This support represents an important step toward transferring CLARITY’s optical imaging developments from the laboratory to clinical applications.
